Angel Meal Train is an organized meal giving service where volunteers can sign up to provide a meal(s) to a family struggling to put meals on the table due to a significant life event such as a new baby, surgery recovery, family death, or other need. Depending on the need, it may be set up as a potluck or as individual meal requests.
Angel Meal Train is an organized meal giving service where volunteers can sign up to provide a meal to a family. Once we verify that certain criteria are met, our committee matches volunteers to meal recipients to ensure that the meal/delivery meets both the volunteer's and the recipient's schedules.
The person nominating a family needs to be a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Lyon, and the family in need should be within a 10-mile radius of the parish.
The amazing volunteers will receive an email where they can sign up to provide a meal to a family in need on the day of their choice. We will follow COVID safety guidelines (contactless delivery).
The family to receive a meal will place a container (i.e., cooler), in a designated area (i.e., their front porch), and the person providing the meal will place the prepared meal into that container on the delivery date.
Angel Meal Train strives to promote a spirit of giving, love, charity, and growing relationships between friends, family, our parish, and our community. Angel Meal Train is our way of helping to create a path for parishioners to follow the Lord in his mission of generosity and helping those in need.
